About Pizzeria Virtù
Meet Chef Osso
Chef Gio Osso is a long-time Phoenix area favorite, having cooked in countless award-winning local kitchens before fulfilling his life-long dream of opening a restaurant of his own in 2013 with Virtù Honest Craft where his ever-changing menu features a modern, global approach to his Mediterranean family roots.
At Virtù Honest Craft, the Machiavellian term for achieving excellence, expect a wandering, Mediterranean-inspired menu that changes almost weekly, sometimes daily. Pizzeria Virtù is the newest restaurant in the Virtù family.
In 2002 when Chef Gio moved to Arizona, this location housed Grazie Pizzeria & Winebar which was the first job offered to Chef Gio. After 18 years when the location became available it only made sense to return to this pizzeria and make it his own.
Napoletana Tradition of Pizza Making
Chef Gio decided that creating Pizzeria Virtù by embracing the Napoletana tradition of pizza making was going to be the key to the restaurant’s success. Chef Gio trained through the VPN Americas and becoming a certified pizzaiolo by the AVPN (Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana) the governing body which upholds the traditions of Napoletana style pizza.
Keeping Pizzeria Virtù in the same tradition that has made Virtù Honest Craft a staple in the valley, the menu at Pizzeria Virtù changes frequently all while adhering to the strict guidelines of the AVPN. We are creating a memorable dining experience through pizza!
We curated a boutique all Italian wine list with heavy emphasis on southern Italy. Our progressive approach to the craft of the cocktail will entice the novice as well as the most discerning of palates.
We look forward to celebrating with you the art of pizza!
Buon Appetito!
